Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This policy lists what you may not do with services from [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("1onHost"). It applies to every service, every customer and every user of a customer's service, including the customers of our resellers. It is part of our Terms of Service.
Illegal content and activity
You may not use our services to store, send or link to anything that is illegal in [COUNTRY] or in the country where the server is located, or to help others do so. This includes fraud, selling stolen data or accounts, infringing copyright or trademarks, and illegal gambling.
Absolutely forbidden, everywhere, without exception
Whatever the location of the server, and even where we offer more lenient or "offshore" hosting:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexualises minors. We report it to the authorities and terminate the account at once, without refund.
- Malware: viruses, ransomware, botnets and their command-and-control servers, cryptojacking, exploit kits.
- Phishing: pages that imitate banks, payment services or other companies to steal log-ins or money, and the mailing of phishing links.
- Content that promotes terrorism or incites violence against people.
E-mail and spam
- No unsolicited bulk e-mail (spam), from our servers or advertising a site hosted with us, and no purchased, rented or scraped mailing lists.
- Bulk mail needs a confirmed opt-in from every recipient, a working unsubscribe link and must follow the law (for example CAN-SPAM and GDPR).
- Shared hosting has hourly sending limits. On a VPS or dedicated server, outgoing port 25 is blocked by default; we may open it on request for a legitimate mail server with correct reverse DNS, SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Port 25 is closed again, and the service may be suspended, after spam complaints, blocklistings or open relays.
Network and security abuse
- No attacks of any kind: denial-of-service, port scans, brute-force log-in attempts, exploiting vulnerabilities or trying to access systems you are not allowed to use.
- No open proxies, open DNS resolvers or open mail relays.
- No spoofing of IP addresses, e-mail headers or identities.
- Keep your software and websites updated. A hacked site or server that attacks others is suspended until it is cleaned.
Resources
- Shared hosting is for websites and e-mail. Not allowed on shared hosting: file sharing or backup storage unrelated to your sites, media streaming, game servers, IRC, Tor nodes, cryptocurrency mining and long-running background processes.
- No use that seriously degrades the server for other customers. We may limit or move such accounts and will contact you.
NovaPanel licences
No cracking, sharing or bypassing of the licence check, and no use of one licence on more servers than it allows.
Reporting abuse
Report abuse to [ABUSE EMAIL] with the full details (headers, logs, URLs). We act on reports quickly and confidentially.
What we do
Depending on how serious a breach is, we may warn you, remove the offending content, limit or suspend the service, or terminate the account without refund. We cooperate with law enforcement as required by law. Repeated or serious violations end the business relationship.
